Our furry folk are handcrafted with love. Each one is the result of countless trials, design refinements and odd looking versions given away to friends and family.
The final designs are made using high quality materials meaning our animals aren't just cute but are also made to last.
Our design process
-
1. Initial drawings
Each animal starts its life as a basic illustration; sometimes on paper, sometimes on an iPad. We've even scratched out rough designs in sand while hiking. These basic illustrations are refined in Adobe Illustrator until the 'cuteness factor' hits 10/10.
-
2. Fabric specifications
We obsessively scour the raw material market for the densest, softest plush fur we can find - the kind you instinctively reach out to touch. Then we mix in shorter pile fabrics for playful contrast, adding texture, character, and personality.
-
3. Prototyping
The final drawings and fabric specifications are sent to our manufacturing partners for review. Samples are sent to-and-fro as we slowly bring each part of the animal to life. It can take over 40 iterations to arrive at the final approved prototype.
Materials we use
-
Soft + dense fur
Our animals have supremely soft 12-15mm fur in pastel hues. Dense and velvety to the touch, this premium fur offers a plush and cuddly feel. With fur like this, you'll want to snuggle up and never let go.
-
Recycled filling
We use recycled polypropylene cotton filling which is satisfyingly puffy, retains its shape, is easy to wash and dries quickly. Best of all, it's softer on the earth.
-
Safety considerations
All our furry friends are compliant with Australian and New Zealand safety regulations (AS/NZS ISO8124) and have been certified safe for children of all ages. That also means they're safe for adults!
